Spanish Flair

September 2012

After a month of house hunting we finally found the one for us.
When we first drove into Ft. Clark Springs we were ambushed by a whole herd of deer. I was in awe. I had never seen such a thing before. Right off the bat the Ft. had already got my attention.
After seeing so much dead area around us. We turned into this quiet little neighborhood that was swarming with giant Oak trees. It was absolutely beautiful. You definitely did not feel like you were in a dessert anymore. With the natural spring that runs through the neighborhood it invites the wildlife and wonderful growth of trees. We were in luck. There was only 1 house for sale. We couldn't let it pass us by. It was meant to be. We put in our offer and won. Welcome to Texas y'all. Spanish homes are fantastic.

We go to the park and play on the tire swings
Goof off and see who can make the silliest faces

and go to the library for story and craft time.

Ballerina

September 2012

All of my kids have been involved in some type of extra curricular activity except for this little one. When I asked her what she wanted to do. She said...Ballet.

Homecoming Parade

September 2012

I knew coming to Bracketville was a good idea. Being in a small town you get to do so much more stuff. Since this town is so little they allow all grades to participate in the high school's Homecoming. Each grade got to make their own floats and participate in the parade. I loved it and so did the kids. They felt so cool. Anthony's 1st grade float was "BLAST  'EM INTO SPACE" Can you make out our planets floating above them, or our rocket ship? Not only do they get to be in the parade, but every Friday they get to walk over the the high school and participate in the Pep Rallies. Isabel comes home memorizing and chanting all of the cheerleader's cheers. The kids are having a blast here at their new school. Thank You Bracketville Tigers for welcoming us in to your den.

Starting School

August 2012

We had a week to figure out what school we wanted our kids to attend. After some quick searches we decided that we would live 30 minutes outside of base. Bracketville is a smaller town (only 1,700 people) but we felt that having smaller classrooms (only 14 kids per class) in school would be better for our children. It allows a lot more one on one time with the kids than if the kids were in a class of 25.

At this point we are staying in a TLF until we find us a house we like in Bracketville.
Here the kids are for their first day of school. Isabel is in 2nd grade and Anthony is in 1st. I am so happy for my kids and know they will have no problem making new friends.
I was concerned for them about riding an hour on the bus. Remember I said the school they attend was 30 miles from the base we were staying at. Luckily, when I asked the kids how was school. They replied ecstatically  "The bus was the BEST part!" Boy was a thrilled to hear that. My worries were dissolved.
